Thing with chicken is, it’s delicious with anything. So easy to cook and makes a complete meal. Though I love curry, I keep trying to add new flavors to it and every time it comes out just as wonderful. So if you like spices, flavors and spinach, you definitely gonna love spinach chicken. It was lazy Saturday afternoon and after a good run this recipe filled with all the nutrition. I could hog on it guilt free.  So let’s get going!

Ingredients
  1. ½ Kg Chicken
  2. 250 gms spinach
  3. 1 large Onion
  4. 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  5. 1-2 green chili
  6. ½ cup yogurt
  7. 1 Bay leaf,
  8. 8-10 peppercorns,
  9. 2-3 black cardamoms,
  10. 2 green cardamoms,
  11. 10 inches cinnamon stick,
  12. 2-3 cloves,
  13. ¼ tsp nutmeg
  14. ½ tsp cumin seeds
  15. 1tsp Red chili powder
  16. 1 tbsp coriander powder
  17. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  18. Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When seeds start to splutter add bay leave and finely chopped onions. When onions start to turn brown add ginger garlic paste and green chilies.
  2. Make a paste of red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and salt by adding some water to it. When onions are cooked and golden brown, add this paste into it. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes or until the masala paste starts leaving oil and sticks to the bottom of the pan.
  3. Add chicken to this mixture and let it cook over medium flame for about 5- 10 minutes. Chicken will become soft now. Add yogurt to it.
  4. Cover the lid and let it simmer on low heat for next 8-10 minutes or until it’s 80% cooked. Stir it gently during the process.
  5. In the meantime, clean and chop spinach roughly. When chicken is 90% done add spinach.
  6. You can add some water if want gravy otherwise it’s just fine without water. Cover the lid and let spinach cook with chicken.
  7. In another 5-8 minutes or so, chicken should be ready.
  8. Serve hot spinach chicken with chapatti or rice. Here goes a complete nutritious meal for you.
